by on Aug.21, 2010, under project 365

I shot this barn from the car (while my wife was driving) and I am surprised how well it turned out. The light was just great and after a few small adjustments, here it is. Day 309.

Day 307

by on Aug.19, 2010, under project 365

A bit of fresh fruit dramatically lit on my dinning room table. For this one I had an assistant, my friend Ugur, who held the light straight on top of the nectarine. We used a coroplast snoot to restrain the light from spilling too much on the table. Since the light was so close to the fruit, it was set to 128th power and we knocked down the ambient light by shooting at the highest synch speed available for radio triggers, in this case and for this particular camera 1/160 of a second. The light was an old Canon 580 EX flash. I warmed up the light in Lightroom. Here’s Day 307.

Day 290

by on Aug.02, 2010, under project 365

I like old cars, and rims, and motorcycles, and new cars, and I like red old wheels with white spokes. I found this, and its pair, at the entrance of a private property where the sign posted said that trespassers WILL be prosecuted. I didn’t want to venture any further. While turning back to the road however, I seemed to have faintly heard a “f*** you idiot” from a speedy driver who wasn’t so enthusiastic about my discovery of the red old cart wheels with white spokes. But maybe it was just me.
