Day Forty Seven
by Andrei on Dec.02, 2009, under project 365
Some guy driving some huge truck got pulled over in front of me while returning home. It wasn’t too far from yesterday’s spot and I decided to pull over in front of him and take a shot. It was dark and rainy so I didn’t get the best view. You can read below for details and setup shot.
Strobist info: 580 EX II with bunch of red and blue gel behind the truck, on the ground fired manually on two channels with the TEST button of the PW during 1’6″ exposure (blue, blue, red) and $2 LED flashlight handheld and hand snooted to get some highlights of the truck. Modified setup shot here. Between you and I, this was by far the hardest shot so far.
Day Twenty
by Andrei on Nov.05, 2009, under project 365
I got home early today and figured since I have some extra time, I’d go a little extra with the setup. I’ve been playing with the camera in the car and wasn’t that excited with all the results. I mean what kind of results can you get when you drive and tweak with the camera in the same time? Well, I wasn’t really tweaking but only trying to get a few rain drop shots. I figured, once I get home I might figure out something else. Since the other car wasn’t there, I figured my wife is out visiting so I took my time and tried something else. Read below for setup info and shot. There I go with Day Twenty.
Strobist info: two 580 EX II in ETTL mode on two groups. A is in the front with 3/4 CTO gel and B is in the back shooting straight into my rear view mirror (no gel.) Both are zoomed to 105 and the ratio from A to B is 2:1. Shot with 50 mm prime through passenger window (open:) in aperture priority and triggered with ST-E2 with back door window down for IR transmission.
Post production: Lightroom +36 on the fill light. Setup here.
