Day Twenty Three

by on Nov.08, 2009, under project 365

As I have said before, this is a learning project. Why am I saying this? Because there are so many things that I try while making these photographs – different techniques (of lighting), different concepts, different stories. I must say that after making a good photograph I really look forward to tomorrows shot. I know that at some point I will get tired and energy will run out and I will be so much inclined to go take a picture of an empty bench or something else. Some day I might have to end up photographing the dumpsters or some garbage. I just didn’t know that that day would come so early in my project.

Oh.. and the stuff on the ground was already there. I didn’t crawl through the dumpster to get myself props. That day did not come yet.

Day Twenty

by on Nov.05, 2009, under project 365

I got home early today and figured since I have some extra time, I’d go a little extra with the setup. I’ve been playing with the camera in the car and wasn’t that excited with all the results. I mean what kind of results can you get when you drive and tweak with the camera in the same time? Well, I wasn’t really tweaking but only trying to get a few rain drop shots. I figured, once I get home I might figure out something else. Since the other car wasn’t there, I figured my wife is out visiting so I took my time and tried something else. Read below for setup info and shot. There I go with Day Twenty.

Shot with 50 mm prime through passenger window (open:) in aperture priority and triggered with ST-E2 with back door window down for IR transmission.

Day Three

by on Oct.19, 2009, under project 365

I saw this guy bike ahead of me while I was driving and immediately was thankful for power windows. I grabbed my camera, rolled down the window and shot this guy dead. He was a fun guy. I pulled over and as he came close, stopped by my car and asked me where I was headed. He offered to ride by so I could get an action shot but since I only had a 50mm prime I figured it wasn’t going to work to well. Plus I was going to turn left at the next stop light and the traffic wasn’t quite like in Boise, Idaho either. Fun little encounter. There goes my idea about having a little number in each photograph (for the first few at least; notice the lone tree, leaf, then the two hand framing David Crowder and then, this guy. I guess if I told you he was doing 3x the speed limit you wouldn’t believe me, but i’m pretty sure he was. At least he maybe wished he had. Or maybe not. I dunno. I’m just sayin’… There goes day 3.
