Day 365

by on Oct.16, 2010, under project 365

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.

For everything there is a beginning and an end, there is an a and there is a z, there is alfa and omega. This symbolizes so many things for me now. It closes the cycle of 365+1 images (remember that I had removed one on Day 57, which I will allow you to see in a small slideshow that I will create with all the images, stay tuned), it shows me first that it is possible to be stubborn enough to take your camera out everyday and make an image, it shows in a subtle manner (or not so subtle) that there is a element of cyclicality to my work, to my life and maybe to all of our lives. It also includes a subtle announcement of which you will find out more details as you follow my blog. I chose the green leaves this time to symbolize that there is always new life being born and we are here for such a short time, some of us shorter than others. And that life goes on. Coincidentally, today is the birthday of my best friend Abel, who went to see our Lord Jesus three years ago almost to the day and who lives for eternity with our Saviour. He is thirty years old now. And counting.

This is also the place to thank (some of :) ) you for your support and encouragement, through comments on the site, via Flickr and on Facebook.

I hope you will come back to visit my images and leave a note so I know you were here. May God bless you.

It all began here, with an image I shot and I liked.

Day 319

by on Aug.31, 2010, under project 365

One of the things I’ve learned while working on this project is that it’s not always simple to create simple things, but there is something that rings true in “less is more” and people like simple things. I like simple things. I’m not going to explain how I made this, not because it’s a secret but because I don’t think it matters. Enjoy Day 319. Thanks for coming.

Day 318

by on Aug.30, 2010, under project 365

You see something and wonder if you can catch the details. I had to put a flash behind this leaf, and all you see here is the leaf lit from behind. Entirely. Some things can only be seen with the naked eye though. I like the image, and wish I had a lady bug to put on top or something, but I still like the way it looks. It’s like seeing the veins of a plant. Here’s Day 318. Tomorrow I have to fillet the salmons.
