Day 250
by Andrei on Jun.23, 2010, under project 365
One of the highlights of our little trip was to visit a wind farm in the middle of nowhere, as they all are located. I had never seen wind turbines up close. I believe I took some amazing images and a few short clips. I decided on posting this one because it shows the scale fairly well (notice the big truck coming to service one of the turbines).

With the coming of the spring there are so many things and places that change because of blooming flowers. They all go away so quickly as well. I found these in the same place where I shot my first photo from this project. I like this image because it’s so simple.

Why are flowers beautiful? What is it that attracts everyone to them, from insects and animals and birds, to the hearts of people? Why are they beautiful?

I’m not going green. This is just my son’s science experiment (the growing grass in a yogurt container) and that’s one of my AAA batteries that I stuck in there for scale. Day 106.

I had a whole story written out for today but I thought it would spark a totally non-photographic discussion. It had all kinds of keywords, such as eco, green, thieves, poor, toxic, selfish, proud, spiritual, problem. Let’s just both look at the image below and I’ll just throw one question out there: why is there no eco fee in Kenya, for example? And if I have it wrong and there is, I’d like to see a receipt.

Day Seventy

Today I drove all the way to Christmas Way, and no, there was no Santa Claus there, no snow, and not many people. I did have to stand in the middle of the street in order to take some of the shots, but since today is Christmas Day, there were hardly any cars on the road. I drove around a little bit afterwards. It’s amazing how deserted everything is, and if you think that less than 24 hours before taking this shot the whole city was crazy and packed with shoppers and cars, it makes you realize how commercialized this celebration has become. Why were there so many people around yesterday and why is there nobody around today? I think we all know the answer. Merry Christmas.
