snow girl
by Andrei on Feb.28, 2011, under family
We just had one of the few days of snow this winter. Luckily it happened on a Sunday so we had time to get out and take advantage of the snow. We played soccer in the snow, which was really fun. It’s hard to run in the snow but one thing was easy: the ball stopped where it fell so it was only a matter of who gets there first. Good workout. I saw my little girl walk in the snow very cautiously. I called her, she looked at me and I took this photo.
Day 362
by Andrei on Oct.13, 2010, under project 365
I had good light so I took it. This is all natural light portrait with little modification in post production. The fill light coming from below is a big strong patch of sun bouncing off the ground. You have to have your eyes open for this natural kind of fill light. It usually happens in places with somewhat glossy floors (hardwood, tiles, etc.) but it can happen anywhere if it’s indoor and the sun hits the ground directly. Just keep your subject in the shade and have them be able to “see” the patch of sun. Then you have all natural fill light from below which gives a different look to their face.
Here is my little angel again. I know she looks very mature in this one, because I caught her a bit upset. She wanted to play with the puzzle and I said we’ll do that in a moment, but first I want to take her picture. Today she made the Alphabet puzzle all by herself. We’re still working on the “l n n o p” part. She is only 3.
Day 355

Here’s my little beauty. She put on her brother’s PJs and I thought she looked cute. But then I always think she’s cute. Even when she’s arguing with me, and believe me she is one fireball! This girl has a mind of her own, and a very strong personality. I pray to God to give me wisdom to raise her to be a God fearing faithful lady.
