Day 265

by Andrei on Jul.08, 2010, under project 365

I’ve been working to get different points of view. I’ve had different points of view in the last few images but the ones that I’m thinking about require different “hardware”. This is closer, though, to some aquatic image. I had the camera very close to the water and held my hand underneath so I could feel when the little waves are too close. I did manage to get the camera and the filter wet as well, but not like David Hobby, who dumped it in the water almost entirely. One hundred days left.

Canon Rebel XT with stock lens and circular polarizing filter.

Day 259

by Andrei on Jul.02, 2010, under project 365

My daughter is having so much fun with this little big truck. She keeps pushing it uphill, get in and then “weeeee” back downhill. At the beginning I was a bit afraid she might get hurt, but it turns out that even though she can’t steer or brake, she handles it pretty well. I realize I enjoy photographing kids more and more. Here’s Day 259.

Day 254

by Andrei on Jun.27, 2010, under project 365

Here we had discussions about opera, history and the influence Richard Wagner had on German culture, on opera, the innovations he brought to the genre, leitmotiv, extensive polyphony, psychoanalysis in music and we briefly talked about Richard Strauss as president of the Reichsmusikkammer during the National Socialistic regime under Hitler. Here are a very good friend with my daughter, reading Wagner’s letters in German. I believe the translation had something to do with cookies and other down to earth things.

My little girl, with a fascinated look at the library computer. I fell behind with posting my images again. I have some beautiful images coming up so stay tuned. Thanks for your patience.

Day 242

by Andrei on Jun.15, 2010, under project 365

I can’t explain this photograph. I just asked her to look at me. I guess that by now, posing takes a new meaning and we become more and more comfortable in front of the lens. I only took a couple of shots and after doing some hard post-production on one of them I decided to go with this one lightly “touched”. Here’s Day 242. Where we are in the project, I don’t know. I sort of dropped posting links on Facebook and Twitter. I’m kinda tired of shooting something every day. Thanks for looking. Sorry for the RSS images missing. I actually never got the images to work with Buzz anyway and I don’t know how to make it work on RSS like this. I’ve had images being downloaded from my site and picked them up in different places so I decided to switch from Flickr to Photoshelter. We’ll see how this works.

Day 228

by Andrei on Jun.01, 2010, under project 365

My favourite little girl. No wonder she’s in most of my images. Sometimes I think how wonderful it is to have so many great pictures of my little kids. These days, if I ask her: “Are you an angel or a princess?” she’ll reply back: “Umm… call me princess.” No comment on that.

"Are you an angel or a princess?"

Day 225

by Andrei on May.29, 2010, under project 365

I shot this using my old Canon Rebel XT and a 50mm prime lens. I used the highest ISO setting to create the grain/noise and shot it in BW. This is viewed through a GeoTrax® high-rise . The blinds in the background are real blinds, creating a fun effect in the “window” openings. I love this image.

Day 214

by Andrei on May.18, 2010, under project 365

My daughter is doing this funny quick shoulder shrug that means “I don’t know” whenever I ask her something and she is upset. Today I was scolding her for something and she was upset, of course. Then I had noticed something on her face and asked her what it was. When she quickly shrugged her shoulders again I started chuckling. She thought it was funny so I asked the question again but this time she wasn’t upset anymore and the shrug wasn’t so funny. I told her: “Be upset and then do it.” We then practiced her “being upset” faces. She is quite the 2.5 yeas old actress. This is one of her “on demand” upset faces.

"be upset!"

Day 196

by Andrei on Apr.30, 2010, under project 365

This was definitely not the intended outlook of the photo shoot but I thought it would be a great image for the blog. She fell behind the tree since the step stool was too little for both of them and then her shoe came off. I don’t know if he was helping her or tickling her. I also shot a little HD movie of them playing around in the grass. I tell you what, the movie looks amazing shot with this professional lens. I might edit it at some point and publish it, but I tend to be slow on those things. If not, it’s all for private viewing or for the grand parents. Here goes another blessed Day 196.

Day 181

by Andrei on Apr.15, 2010, under project 365

First day when it felt like spring up here. It was actually quite warm. We went outside and played some soccer and went on the swinga-polinta, they way my daughter calls it. It’s a mix between English and Romanian. She loves it. This is the first time I used my old camera on this 365 project. You can notice the image being a bit grainy. I also used a circular polarizer filter, for those of you who are reading my lighting and post processing info. Here goes Day 181. God bless you.

Small tweaks in Lr. Very small. I believe this is also the first time I shot in joint photographic experts group format, also known as JPEG or JPG, for this project.
