Day 196

by Andrei on Apr.30, 2010, under project 365

This was definitely not the intended outlook of the photo shoot but I thought it would be a great image for the blog. She fell behind the tree since the step stool was too little for both of them and then her shoe came off. I don’t know if he was helping her or tickling her. I also shot a little HD movie of them playing around in the grass. I tell you what, the movie looks amazing shot with this professional lens. I might edit it at some point and publish it, but I tend to be slow on those things. If not, it’s all for private viewing or for the grand parents. Here goes another blessed Day 196.

Day One Hundred and Seven

by Andrei on Jan.31, 2010, under project 365

Today I saw a short film with a man who was comparing the domino effect and the decisions in our life. They are so many and they influence other decisions, other people and so many other things. The key thing was that we take so little time making so many of these decisions and the effect applies so quickly, just like the domino pieces, as they move from one to the other so quickly. It made me think about my decisions.
I thought about building the image below with the empty chair because so many times we are not even “there” as we make decisions. Most of them happen fast, little time goes into making them and we want to move on to the next thing. Then we might end up wondering why our life is the way it is, why our children are the way they are, why our relationships are where they are and many times we are looking for someone else to blame. Just a thought.

Day Eight

by Andrei on Oct.24, 2009, under project 365

This is the setup I used today in the park for a bunch of free portraits. It was an interesting experience. A bunch of people stopped by, a bunch of people ran away. Well, not really… but they politely declined.

Day One

by Andrei on Oct.17, 2009, under project 365

Great, here I go with a project that I hope I am going to finish. I will try my own version of 365. In case you are not familiar with this concept, it means 365 photographs in one year. That should come down to like… umm,… one picture a day. Let’s see how it goes. The only rules are: that there should be one photograph every day and I should like it. Granted, the second rule is subjective, because in a couple of days/weeks/months/hours I might not like it anymore. But, oh well, it’s a learning process. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
I strongly believe that no one would even read this post for… ummm, a few good months. Brownie points for the first comment left here. Surprise surprise if you send me a private comment with your e-mail address – I’m thinking of maybe sending you a signed professional museum quality print. Now, there some incentive. God bless you. Enjoy.
