tire swing in the winter
by Andrei on Jan.28, 2011, under nature
“No more fun.” I shot this on the way to … Well, on the way. It doesn’t matter where. I go by this thing about once a week. It had snowed that day (one of the two times it snowed around here) so I caught a good time. I’ve actually never been on one of these swings. I wonder how it is…
Day 288
by Andrei on Jul.31, 2010, under project 365
I read somewhere that one of the interesting things about creating a photograph every day for a whole year is that it will help you remember what you did that particular day. I look back and I sometimes remember what I did and how I felt but sometimes I don’t. If I look through the other images of that particular day I may remember what I was trying to photograph, what other things happened or how many different ideas I tried until I liked the one I ended up posting. This is one of the days where I didn’t feel like shooting anything. I’m already tired and I sort of look forward to finishing so I could concentrate on other things as well. Today I shot an empty chair with a zoom lens, available light at highest (and worst) ISO setting on my worst sensor while sitting on the couch. Here it is. I hope you had a better day. God bless you.
Day Fifty Seven

“Armed only with a gently curved stick, he brought order to the world.” Master Healer.
Today was Help-Portrait Day, an international movement where photographers from all over the world got together and organized studios in different locations and shot free portraits of different people. If you are a photographer, you should definitely look into this for next time this happens. Many of the people who showed up got prints to give to their families or friends or to keep for themselves. All printed on the spot. The caption was given to me by Wayne himself and added a nickname with a special spelling, which I could not record.
