Day 285

by Andrei on Jul.28, 2010, under project 365

I went with my friend Ugur downtown to shoot fireworks today. We had a great time and grabbed a few good images. The bridges were full of people (both the one we shot and the one we were on) and it may have been a great picture to shoot photograph all the photographers from the other side of the street ["Maybe one day we'll do you too..." - Finucci brothers], but it was impossible to cross. Traffic wasn’t stopped and some of the images even have camera shake (or should I call it “bridge shake”) due to some of the buses driving by in the middle of some longer exposures. It was a great view to see all the trails that the boats would make, the helicopter and it was just a great view. Ugur is a fun guy and a great photographer. Here’s a link to some of his images.
I will post some hdr and other images in a different section of this website. Until then, this image will suffice as the picture of the day. Here’s 285 images so far. God bless you and thank you for stopping by.

Day 258

by Andrei on Jul.01, 2010, under project 365

Happy Canada Day! Fun day even though it rained a bit and was cold. I can’t believe it was so cold. It’s summer and it’s cold. I probably would have complained how hot it was if it were sunny and hot like last year. I prefer it like this, though it was cold. I was very disappointed with the fireworks. Big time! They lasted about 15 seconds or so and the show was over. There was a light show before that and singers and such but I understand only the people who sat directly in front of the 10×10 stage could see it well. Not cool… not cool at all. This is the only shot I took of the fireworks in front of the lake. Here’s to Day 258 Canada Day. I’ll have to check how things are looking over the border in a couple of days. Maybe there’s more luck with the fireworks there.

Day One Hundred and Twenty One

by Andrei on Feb.14, 2010, under project 365

This needs no introduction. I have made some other photographs that show the actual location better and to the disappointment of many, a big fence is surrounding the cauldron. People can only take pictures through the holes of the fence or by climbing on objects to get a shot above the tall fence.

Note: if your RSS reader did not grab the image please go to the site and see it. It is probably because I embedded it differently this time. Here goes day 121 – the 2010 Winter Olympic Cauldron.

Day Ninety One

by Andrei on Jan.15, 2010, under project 365

Surprise, surprise!… I found this guy some place right before he was heading to… any guesses? No, not to the North Pole. To storage! I shot a portrait before so here he goes. I just gave him a big bear hug and moved him in the process in the spot where the lights were setup. Here goes day 91.
Christmas +.
