my first piano
by Andrei on Jun.18, 2011, under editorial, family
This is the 115 years old piano that we first had at home when I was a kid. It was a A. Strobl, made in Kiev, Ukraine. 12 gold medals. I loved the candle holders and the mellow sound and the fact that it was old. We had a total of 4 pianos at home, this being the only upright piano in a three bedroom and one living room apartment. This is where I had my first piano lesson. Pictured here is my son, back when we visited Romania the last time. The piano has been recently given away by my father to one of his students.
